Alyssa's ramblings...

4.1kg.

We had a doctor's appointment today. Grace is basically in the 50th percentile for everything. :o) She's 4.1kg (9 pounds) and 54cm long. And I don't remember how big her head is, but it's normal. Our friends' baby girl, Bethany, is a week older than Grace, and was 6 pounds 15 ounces when she was born (6 ounces heavier). But now, Grace looks so much bigger! I think it's mainly the head. Bethany's head is tiny. And it's amazing how different they look to each other. I thought babies basically looked pretty similar. Yep, I was wrong.

But anyway, Grace has been smiling heaps, and even laughing! It's so gorgeous. I'm loving being a Mum.

My husband has been given a month's notice. His job's being made redundant, because the business has been very, very slow. We kinda saw it coming, because most days he hardly has anything to do. He works in a leather warehouse, so when it's slow he makes belts and wristbands. We have so many wristbands at home, and even gave some away as Christmas presents. The other two warehouse workers, even though they haven't been let go, are both looking for other jobs. They think that the company will be out of business within a year.

I'm not worried. He has 7 years warehouse experience, and we've applied for quite a few jobs already. I think it's just an opportunity for him to get a job that has more pay and more stability, because that's what we need at the moment. It seems that every job he's had has been right for the time. Like the job he had from before we were married - his boss owns some units, and one of them was available at exactly the time that we were looking for somewhere to live. So he's our landlord. His job now came just before I got pregnant, and was very close to my work. So we could drive in together, and save heaps of money on petrol. So I really believe that we'll get what we need from his new job, and that's more money. I'll keep you updated.

Unfortunately I don't have any new photos of my gorgeous girl. I was going to bring my digital camera over to Mum's house and download the pictures, but I couldn't find the program I needed to install for it to work. I'll probably find it by next week. Then I can post photos of her smiling.
